More finds

Good day to you.  Doc said the swelling in my halupki knees (yes they look like stuffed shriveled cabbage) needs to be reduced and bursa sacs on the kneecaps are also filled with fluid.  He recommended an entire month of Advil which should take care of the inflammation and he'll check me after that before ordering an MRI.  I highly doubt that surgery will be involved.  I didn't realize that knee damage takes a very long time to heal, up to 12 weeks, so I should be fine.  He was impressed that my full weight on 63 year old knees hitting stone tile did not break the kneecap.  Now that I think about it, was that a compliment or a comment about my weight?  There is still a possibility that something is torn, but I like his wait and see attitude.
We ran a few errands and stopped at the mall's antique store again because I left two items behind Tuesday.  Do you do that?  Usually I make the purchase because I can return it anywhere else, but no returns here so I have to think.  Even for cheap stuff.
So here's my bracelet and I'm grateful it was still there.  Not old at all but that doesn't matter.  The clerk asked if this will be worn with my little black dress.  First off, nothing I have is little.  Second, after 28 years of blond Labradors, I have nothing in black.  Third, I don't own a dress.  When I play dress up, I wear a newer pair of jeans with a newer white shirt, and a better wool blazer.   The rhinestones just add a little sparkle.  Halupki knees and pierogi ankles aren't terribly attractive hanging from a dress.

The other left behind piece is this tall pewter creamer.

And the third piece that came home was just brought in today.  A beat up plank bottom with traces of red paint.  As with all my old chairs, you need short legs and a trim behind to sit, neither of which pertain to me.

The owners were going over surveillance footage because all the jewelry from a display case was stolen during store hours. Again.

I decided to stay with Eliza Pomeroy until such time that she pisses me off.   We got off on the wrong foot but may kiss and make up.  If not, adios, ciao, hasta la vista, au revoir, give me a match.

Stay safe, hug hard, laugh out loud.
Enjoy your weekend - thanks for visiting.

Lovely bracelet... a 'just because' gift to yourself-- which I TOTALLY understand! I also have noticed the two references to a 'match' lately, and it makes me laugh! I get that reference! Hugs!

Girl you crack me up. I fully understand about the dress thing. I own one and it's for funerals. Now ain't that a depressing thought.
Love the pewter pitcher! You stay well and take the Advil!

That actually sounds like good news from the Dr. with your knees! Fingers and toes crossed each day you see improvement. And your finds are lovely, both items were worth going back for and to find the third newly in the door, meant to be! Enjoy them all and your needle time, Debbie in IL

Your descriptions are so funny--maybe it's because many of us feel the same way about our own appearances! Good luck with your health--sounds like things may take a turn for the better!
Love all your purchases!

Here is hoping the Advil helps with the swelling and knee pain! If I have to dress up, I have a pair of dress pants unless I can get by with good jeans and a dressy t-shirt. Have a great weekend, Marly!

I love your "bling". I own one dress and I've asked to be buried in it.. It's red.
I hope the Advil will work on your knees.. It has helped you with other aches and pains.. I know, for sure, that it's good stuff..
Your little bowl is precious. Love your piece of pewter and I have a thing for chairs.
Take care and the Advil.. Do whatever you enjoy and that includes eating chocolate.. Life is short.
Best wishes,
Charlotte in Virginia

I hope you get better soon and without too much pain. It has not dampened your dry sense of humor...which I thoroughly enjoy.

Great finds.

I dislocated my knee in when I was 13, now Im 41 and it still bugs me. It started clicking real loudly when I go up stairs. Can never sneak up on anyone if I wanted! About the sewing method-do you use that on 32 ct and smaller? I have tried it just cant seem to do it, and Ive never seen anyone do it on small counts so Im real curious. I sure hope you feel better. Take care Marly.

Love your great finds, Marly! You sound like me with the dressing up... I can't remember the last time I had a dress on. We have to go to a wedding in October and I'm already struggling with what to wear!

Hope your knee feels better soon :)

Hope the Advil does the trick Marly and that your poor knees heal up. All of your finds are wonderful and your wardrobe sounds exactly like mine! Hope Eliza doesn't tick you off (anymore than she already has!) and have a lovely weekend. Love to the brats.

I love your idea of dressing up. With a fawn pug, one does not own anything black, either. Your bracelet bling will go a long way. Good buy. Love the chair, too.
Hope the Advil helps and you heal quickly.
Hugs :)

Your posts always put me in a good mood! I used to wear little black dresses when I was in my 30s but jeans and t-shirts are so much more comfortable nowadays!!
Hope your knee recovers soon, had surgery on mine some years ago and hope you can skip that part!
Love your findings, well done!

I need to visit your antique shop -love the finds(especially pewter). My mother in law made the best pierogi's!I tried....now I buy them premade when we go (rarely) to a great shop when in the Scranton area. Theirs frozen are better than mine fresh. I know I digress but it brought up good memories. Have great weekend. Love your posts

Good news on your knees. Hope the advil treatment works and there is no other damage. lol about the weight comment! I'm not sure how I would take it! Love your finds at the store. Very nice! All jewelry stolen during open hours? Wow! Hope they figure out what happened and catch the perpetrators!

Beautiful new additions! I understand about the dress thing. I don't wear one often either, who wants to look at my fat legs?
