Two steps forward

ten steps back.  Do you have any idea how many times I have removed and restarted with different colors on this sampler?  I lost count myself.  Yes the pumpkin looks great on this brown linen and it goes very well with my sampler sack, but I want the stronger colors in the bottom section.  So for the last time, I am removing the latest choice of pumpkin and replacing it with the 612.  I'm sticking with three colors in the alpha and it will take a while to remove the pumpkin, but I may continue with the rest of the project first and go back later.

Hornies are a real bitch.  To size something so small has not been fun and quite time consuming.  I like seeing "bits" of samplers but for some reason, I have to have it more concise and balanced.  Geez.  I wonder what that reason could be.

Houses do not work well on these because of the size and after finally uncrossing my eyes yesterday, I am limiting the sampler designs to three of these four.

Everything will be for sale at one time.  Because these horny hornie measures are made of 1/4" thick wood, they must ship with the package rate of $2.60.  I was going to take one of my many Death by Chocolate Zucchini Breads down to Bruce for sympathy, but my favorite postal guy follows the rules.  No bribes.

Have a good week.  So upset that we are in the 20's of August.

So ... the O and the P are in 612 and you're removing the orangey C D and G H, and the beige L, M N stay? Or the LMN that come out to be redone in 612 ... ? (so confused ... but that's not hard these days) I do like the orange with the darker letters and would likely keep those and swap out the lighter beige, but then I have no idea what the bottom of the sampler looks like.

Love what you've selected for the little measuring hornbooks!

I hate that when the floss and fabric don't seem to jive. I'm in the process of ripping the thread out of the first and second attempt of a project. The pattern was rather old and there were obvious differences from then and now in floss colors.

I do like the pumpkin color. Choosing colors can be such a pain!

I like the orange on the brown linen but it sounds like you have a better plan in mind. Looking forward to the finished product. as to that death by chocolate bread??? Sounds like a perfect antidote to a frustrating day for anyone! I am thinking chocolate is a great way to "clear one's mind" when clarity and decisions are needed. LOL!!

Love how the teeny hornbooks turned out, Marly! You have such a great eye and always end up with a final look that is wonderful.

I like the orange on brown, but it is probably too bright for you--I'm sure you'll come up with a great substitute...

Enjoy this last week of August--can't believe September is knocking on our doors already!

Love the Hornbooks so sweet.
I am like you if a color does not fit I will change it, maybe more then once.
